Ariana Grande visited Singapore for the international debut of Wicked: For Good

Loyal supporters of Ariana Grande are urging that a person who jumped a fence and seized the celebrity during the recent Wicked: For Good launch be arrested or removed from Singapore.

A circulating footage shows the Australian man bypassing media personnel and charging at Grande while the cast proceeded down a yellow carpet surrounded by supporters.

Fellow actress Cynthia Erivo immediately wrested the shocked actress away from Mr Wen, who was seen being removed of the premiere by guards.

Mr Wen posted on Instagram recently that he was "let go after being arrested", though official papers showed that he was scheduled to be present on the following morning. It is not clear if he was charged.

Pattern of Incidents

This is not the first time for Mr Wen, who calls himself a "Controversial Figure", has invaded a concert or event. His Instagram profile contains videos of him interrupting other star-studded functions, including rushing the platform at the pop singer's Sydney concert in recently and in a similar way during The Chainsmokers event in the city last year.

"Measures must be taken applied against him as this is clearly a criminal offence," stated an Instagram follower, in a response to a video Mr Wen uploaded of his act.

"This appears to be a habit... why are you not imprisoned?" another Instagram user questioned.

Supporters Voice Worry Over Grande's Well-being

Several supporters accused Mr Wen for "re-traumatising" Grande, who had revealed experiencing trauma-related anxiety after a terrorist explosion at the finale of her spring 2017 show in Manchester, killing 22 people and wounding hundreds.

"The star has endured numerous terrifying experiences... including the Manchester tragedy, and you believed breaching security was amusing?" commented another response on Instagram.

Some supporters also questioned guards at the premiere for not being sufficiently alert; while others called for online networks to remove Mr Wen's content.

Reaction and Event Details

In videos circulating online, Grande looked shocked when she was approached by the man. Her fellow actors Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be spotted comforting her while Mr Wen was escorted away by staff.

Grande has not commented on the situation, and the premiere activities continued without further issues.

Many of supporters had congregated in a mass of colorful attire at the Wicked: For Good Asia-Pacific premiere in a Singapore mall, including some who had stood in line for as long as a significant duration before it started.

The movie, to be released on November 21, is the sequel of a dual version of the acclaimed theatrical production Wicked, which revolves around the surprising bond between two distinct sorceresses.

The show itself is a derivative of the twentieth-century book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who portrays the benevolent sorceress Glinda, was adorned in a light pink sparkling outfit at the gathering while Erivo, who plays the wicked witch, wore a sleek black dress embroidered with roses.

They were accompanied by cast member Jeff Goldblum.

The previous installment, Wicked, was the top-earning motion picture of 2024 in the UK, and earned 10 Academy Award nods, earning two for excellent wardrobe and production design.
