Viktor Gyokeres joined the Gunners from Sporting in July

Gunners forward Viktor Gyokeres has been omitted in the new manager's first Swedish national team selection, while Reds forward Alexander Isak has earned inclusion

Gyokeres is set to undergo further examinations this week following concerns of a hamstring injury during the Gunners's Premier League win against Burnley on Saturday

Gyokeres sat out Arsenal' European victory against the Czech side earlier this week

Alexander Isak Returns

The Liverpool striker, who hasn't featured since 22 October because of muscle issues, made the squad to play in World Cup qualifying games against Switzerland (November 15th) plus the Slovenian side (November 18th)

Additional England-based Selections

  • Spurs playmaker the young talent, working his way back from concussion
  • Newcastle wide player the Swedish international

Both athletes are among Potter's England-based contingent named by ex- multiple English clubs coach the new Swedish coach

The New Manager's Role

Potter was named the Swedish federation first on a short-term basis in late October, under a month following his departure by the Hammers

Former boss the Danish coach lost his job following the national team's defeat against Kosovo in mid-October, a result that made automatic qualification in qualifying group impossible

Present Position

Sweden are currently bottom in Group B with just one point in their opening four games

Should they don't manage to finish second, there remains a chance they might take part in the secondary qualification because of their performance in the most recent Nations League
